Commander Robert Forsyth RN (Ret d) commanded a diesel-powered submarine HMS Alliance, was Executive Officer (2nd-in-command) of the Polaris submarine HMS Repulse (temporarily in command), Teacher to the submarine CO's Command Course, Perisher, and commanded a nuclear-powered attack submarine HMS Sceptre.
