You will laugh a lot, you will cry a little, but you will enjoy every page of Pot of Gold, the story of how Roger and Meriel gave up their comfortable city life and established a 'model' small organic farm, building up a stock of rare breeds and farm animals, including a working horse. Through sadness and joy they learned the hard way how to rear pigs, sheep, poultry and cattle, how to grow the crops to feed them, and how to cope with life and death. They found what so many people are looking for: that there is indeed a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and that there are riches no money can buy.

Born in Malaya, Meriel qualified as a nurse at St Bartholomew's Hospital and worked for a plastic surgeon before going into the theatre. She acted in film, TV and stage including the American Shakespeare Company, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the National Theatre, and was a member of the Directors Guild. Some years ago she moved to Herefordshire and set up a small organic farm with her husband, then a senior manager at IBM.
