Synopsis
Despite the growing literature on many aspects of communications technology, relatively little has been published on the functioning and planning of complete networks. The long-awaited 2nd edition of this seminal and bestselling telecommunications book is intended to fill that gap, discussing the structure and performance of networks in the context of the services they provide. It is written with the young engineer in mind, but will give professional specialists a deeper understanding of their work too. Much of the material has been developed from teaching within successive IEE Vacation Schools.

À propos de l?auteur
J.E. Flood is Emeritus Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Aston, Birmingham, UK. He joined the university after 20 years in the telecommunications industry/during which time he held a variety of positions including that of Chief Engineer of the Advanced Development Laboratories of the Telecommunications Division of Associated Electrical Industries Ltd. He has served on many bodies concerned with the development of telecommunications, and has been Chairman of the IEE Professional Group Committee on Telecommunication Networks and Systems and the BT Standards Committee.
