Synopsis
Optical diagnostic techniques are now routinely used in research and design. Notable areas of application are in IC engines, turbines and ocean structures. Important recent advances, such as the extension of flow mapping to three dimensions, make these techniques viable in a much wider range of practical solutions. These are the transcripts of a two day event which provided a forum for the presentation of new developments in optical diagnostic techniques and the exchange of ideas between industrialists and academic researchers. This selection of refereed papers presents a wide range of studies, results of research and industrial applications.
