Cloth, 4to, 30 cm, xi, 632 pp. 10,011 entries. From the blurb: "Many of the most important ideas in the development of Economics were first put forward, not in major treatises, but in pamphlets; the Bullion controversy of 1810 and the formulation of the theory of rent by Malthus, Ricardo and West in 1815 provide cases in point. Of these pamphlets, a few of the most famous have been reprinted, but many have become extremely scarce with the passage of time. It is often very difficult for a research worker to discover where a copy of any given pamphlet is to be found, and even more difficult for him to be sure that he has located all the pamphlets connected with a particular topic; many libraries with excellent collections of pamphlet material have never had the time or the resources to produce catalogues of such material for their own use, much less for publication. Irish libraries contain copies of almost all well-known pamphlets of the 'classical period' of economics, as well as many lesser-known but valuable ones. This volume attempts to make known the extent of the riches to be found in the many collections of pamphlets in libraries throughout Ireland. It is in fact a Union Catalogue containing more than ten thousand entries, listing all pamphlets of economic interest published anywhere in the world between 1750 and 1900, of which at least one copy is now housed in any one of sixteen major Irish libraries." Very Good in lightly soiled and slightly used dustwrapper. N° de réf. du vendeur ABE-21266
