Mike Evans is the author of The Beatles: Paperback Writer, The Art of the Beatles, Ray Charles: The Birth of Soul, Elvis: A Celebration, The Beats, Woodstock: Three Days that Rocked the World, The Blues: A Visual History and numerous other titles. A rock musician through the 1960s, Evans played with The Liverpool Scene, supporting both Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan in 1969. He subsequently moved into freelance journalism as a regular contributor to Melody Maker. Since the late 1980s, Mike has written or edited many books on music, movies, and fashion. He lives in France.
