À propos des auteurs
Raja Anwar was an adviser to Pakistan's Prime Minister Bhutto from 1974 until the 1977 coup. He was imprisoned in Kabul for four years from 1980, and now lives in exile in West Germany.
Fred Halliday (1946-2010) was well known as an authority on international affairs. He was the editor of Isaac Deutscher's Russia, China and the West, and the author of Arabia Without Sultans, Threat from the East, Iran and, with Maxine Molyneux, The Ethiopian Revolution.

This appears to be a new, unopened and unread paperback copy of an important work, BUT closer inspection shows that it is in fact a former library book (but it does not appear to have been taken out!) and there is some tanning to the page edges. All in all quite a good copy. Language: English, translated from Urdu. A first-hand account of Afghanistan during the Russian occupation and beyond written by an advisor to Pakistan's Prime Minister Bhutto. The author was imprisoned in Kabul for 4 years and here discusses the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, sharing the comments of Afghan leaders, and suggesting the cause of the crisis. Impressive.
