Come home Robbie Robbie leaves his home in Virginia and joins a fundamentalist cult. Gradually it becomes apparent that he will not be coming back. In effect, he has disappeared. His parents, Bob and Sal, postpone their divorce and try, each in their own way, to cope with this inexplicable loss. Bob, a Vietnam Vet, mortgages everything he owns, puts his extra-marital affair on hold, and takes the law into his own hands in an effort to find Robbie. Sal retreats into herself and encounters terrifying memories and intimations. She has lost everything - son, husband, home and finally even her faith. They each examine their relationship with Robbie, finding there the competitive father and the overprotective mother. But is it too late to recover lost ground? How do you reach someone who has been brainwashed? The Author Michael G. Casey was educated in New Ross and later studied economics at UCD and Cambridge. He joined the Irish public service and participated in various EC and OECD committees in Brussels and Paris. He spent several years with the IMF in Washington DC, where he worked closely with Americans, Canadians and the peoples of the Caribbean Basin. This is his first novel.
