This book is based on the IEE Vacation School on Radiowave Propagation held at the University of Surrey. Within an intensive week of study, 15 lecturers presented a range of topics covering aspects of propagation from VLF to millimetre wavelengths and from surface waves to earth/space propagation. In addition, lectures were presented on the effects of propagation on the performance of radio systems. The lecture notes, in some cases edited and revised where appropriate, are combined in this publication to bring together a discussion of propagation topics which are otherwise only treated in a variety of reports and special publications. M.P.M.Hall is also the author of "Effects of the Troposphere on Radio Communications".
