Alison Pargeter is an analyst specialising in the Middle East and North Africa, with a focus on political Islamist movements. She has held academic positions at the University of Cambridge and Kings College, London, and is a Senior Research Associate at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). Pargeter is regularly called on to brief policymakers in the UK and internationally, and has addressed a wide range of audiences on her areas of expertise, including the US State Department, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Her other publications include The New Frontiers of Jihad: Radical Islam in Europe, The Muslim Brotherhood: From Opposition to Power and Libya: The Rise and Fall of Gaddafi.
