Memory, Community, and Activism is the first book-length study to critically examine the Mexican experience in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. Jerry Garcia is an Assistant Professor of History and Chicano/Latino Studies and an Associate Research Scholar with the Julian Samora Research Institute at Michigan State University. He is co-editor of The Illusion of Borders: The National Presence of Mexicanos in the United States.

Gilberto Garcia is a Professor of Chicano Studies at Eastern Washington University and co-editor of The Illusion of Borders: The National Presence of Mexicanos in the United States and The Chicano Experience in the Northwest.
