In a unique study of Anglo-Jewish writers in the post-war period, Dr. Sicher traces through their works the story of the rise of the Jewish community from slum poverty to suburban affluence. After having studied and taught at Oxford University, Dr. Sicher now teaches at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. His publications include studies in Russian, comparative literature, and a book on the prose style of Issak Babel. He is also a poet.
