Thirty stories and articles by Nash Buckingham (1880-1971), the Tennessee wildfowler, bird-dog man and field-trial judge best known for De Shootinest Gent'man. George Bird Evans, a grouse and woodcock writer and friend of Buckingham's, chose them from 111 stories and articles and grouped them in six parts, adding editor's notes and a biographical "Portrait of Nash." Olin, who wrote the foreword, hired Buckingham in 1925 as Western Cartridge Company's Director of Game Restoration, the first such post in American industry. Photographs include pictures of him as a young weightlifter and football captain, his wife Irma shooting, dogs and companions from the stories, and his guns, among them the Burt Becker magnum "Bo Whoop," lost in 1948 and recovered in 2005. Includes a bibliography of his books and magazine pieces.
