A pioneer in interactive CD-ROM, MIDI files, hard disk recording and music score publication, he is a well-known lecturer on guitar synthesis and computer/MIDI applications for the guitar, as well as a consultant for Fender Musical Instruments and Apple Computer. Purse has performed live with such artists as Al DiMeola, Joe Pass, Barney Kessel, and Billy Cobham.
