Betsy Wittemann, a New England native, has been writing travel articles and guidebooks for more than 25 years. She is co-author of The Fireside Guide to New England Inns and Restaurants, Day-tripping & Dining in Southern New England, and Waterside Escapes. A journalist and freelance writer, she contributes a monthly feature, "The Weekender," to the Journal Inquirer in Manchester, Connecticut. She lives in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
