The art of hand quilting endures because nothing can duplicate the look of fine hand quilting. This book, originally published in 1996, quickly became the must-have book for every quilter who wanted to learn tips and techniques for those times when they wanted to quilt their finest patchwork by hand. Nancy Brenan Daniel, 12 years later, has revised and updated the material, creating another book that every quilter should have in his or her library. Like the original, there are sections on batting, marking tools, frames and hoops, thimbles, thread, quilting stencils, quilting patterns, posture, lighting, mental attitude, no-stress hand quilting, preparing the fabric, layering, knots, the dimple style stitch and a question-and-answer section on how to improve your quilting stitch. Also in this updated version of the book are five new practice pieces as well as three of her best pieces from the original book, including the famous cover project: Welcome Wall Quilt With Wheat and Pineapple.
Nancy Brenan Daniel is a traditional quilter, designer and teacher. Her interest in quilting began in childhood at the side of her grandmother. She began her professional life as an art teacher and from there moved to teaching quilting and designing quilts which have appeared in magazines, books and quilt exhibitions. Nancy lives in Tempe, Arizona desert with her husband Norm; she continues to spend much of her time teaching others the art of hand quilting.

Soft cover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. If you have always wanted to quilt by hand, this friendly little book promises to teach you in just one day, and then keep you practicing happily for the rest of your life. Learn to Do Hand Quilting in Just One Day was written by Nancy Brenan Daniel and published by the American School of Needlework of San Marcos, California in 1996, as book number 4173, produced by Rita Weiss. Daniel learned to love quilting at her grandmother's frame, and the book walks a beginner through the running stitch and the traditional patterns step by step, with finished quilts photographed throughout, including wholecloth style designs, cable and feather patterns, and framed wall pieces. It is a gentle, encouraging introduction to a skill that machine quilting has nearly crowded out. The book is in very good condition. The covers are clean and bright, and the pages are clean and unmarked with only the light, even toning you would expect in a book of this age. Please review all photos for condition. Great find at a great price! Please note the S&H charges, which include USPS postage, materials, and handling. Pictured bookends are not included in the sale. N° de réf. du vendeur 960143282389
