Hardcover. Etat : Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Fine. 1st Edition. 323 pages. Hardcover with a dust jacket. Over 380 illustrations. The entire, in-depth story of the controversial British SA80, written by an ex-Royal Marine Armourer. The SA80 has been the issue small arms system of the British Armed Forces for almost twenty years, and the controversies surrounding it have never let up. Numerous features of the ArmaLite Ar-18 were simply appropriated in the early 1970s for use in the pilot model of the 4.85mm bullpup "Enfield Weapon System" (EWS). In 1985 the still-unperfected 5.56mm SA80weapon system was adopted as the L85A1 Light Support Weapon (LSW), as modifications and trials continued. In 1988 H & K was awarded a controversial 92M British Pound contract to retrofit the SA80 to the A2 version - in Germany. The controversies continue. An excellent and comprehensive study. Getting Scarce. Long out of print. The publisher is no longer in business. The previous owner's name and year are neatly written in small letters on the inside front board. The dust jacket covers it. Otherwise both the Book and the Dust Jacket are in Fine condition with only the lightest use. An opportunity to own a beautiful copy of a Scarce title at a reasonable price.
