Synopsis
This program presents decision analysis through applications, with a focus on making business decisions. The authors are from a leading management consulting firm specialising in the application of decision analysis to corporate, R&D and manufacturing strategy. This second edition includes material on formulating problems using influence diagrams and a more thorough and gradual introduction to the probability theory underlying decision analysis. The software component of the package has been upgraded to provide additional computing capability and now includes Sensitivity, a program that automates the sensitivity analysis of both spreadsheet variables, and the SUPERTREE decision tree analysis program. This can be used as a supplement on any quantitative methods course in which the lecturer wishes to extend coverage of decision analysis techniques and their applications. It can also support a short stand alone course in decision analysis in engineering or business schools.
