This is the Warsaw Ghetto diary written from May to August 1942 by Janusz Korczak (1878-1942) who was a Polish doctor, author of over 20 books, and head of an orphanage caring for some two hundred children. Korczak declined repeated offers of rescue, choosing instead to remain with the children. He was exterminated in August 1942 at Treblinka. Also included here is THE LAST WALK Of JANUSZ KORCZAK by Aaron Zeitlin (pp. 7 - 63, translated from the Yiddish); and a Preface by Igor Newerly (pp. 67 - 76).
