Schizophrenia. The diagnosis was actually a relief, a validation of what Lily had suspected. She knew all too well that there was something different about her. A serious disorder, schizophrenia affected how Lily thought, felt, and acted. Adding to her suffering, misunderstanding and ignorance about the disorder influenced how family, friends, the community, and the church judged Lily. Isolated, yet longing for emotional stability, connection, and belonging, Lily discovered hope and healing. Powerful and positive, Lily, Be Free is a memoir that sees the person behind the diagnosis, recognizes factors that are harmful, and illuminates a path to recovery. If you or someone you know struggles with schizophrenia, this book is for you.
