Donald J. Devine is former professor of political science at the University of Maryland, and the author of eight books, the most recent being "America’s Way Back: Reclaiming Freedom, Tradition, Conservatism" (2013). Following his term as head of President Reagan’s civil service, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, he now lectures on politics and political science for The Fund for American Studies, and writes columns for several prominent websites on public policy, philosophy and politics. He also works as a management and political consultant. He resides with his wife in Shadyside, Maryland.
