Bound in very good bright gilt lettered green cloth , housed and protected in original unclipped pictorial dustwrapper featuring Bill Botten illustration to both boards, very gently rubbed to spine and with tiny chip to head of upper wrapper. Frederick Rolfe was an English writer, artist, photographer and eccentric and openly homosexual in a closed society; he gave himself the title of Baron Corvo (Italian for crow). Illustrator Botten worked on Rushdie's Midnight's Children, McEwan's First Love Last Rights and Ian Fleming's James Bond novels, among many others.
