Wrappers, 8vo, 25 cm, ix, 106 pp, facs. From the introduction: "In 1933 Dr. R.W. Chapman published in the Proceedings of the Oxford Bibliographical Society, Vol. III, Part iii, a paper on Dodsley's Collection of Poems by Several Hands, giving collations, lists and indices of all the editions up to the completion of the miscellany in 1758. My intention is to extend the work of Chapman by dealing in the same way with the professed 'Supplements to Dodsley', so that it will be in effect a 'Supplement to Chapman'. .The collections in question are three: The Poetical calendar, 12 volumes, 1763; A Collection of the most esteemed pieces of poetry, Richardson and Urquhart, 1 volume, 1767 (second edition 1770), by the late Moses Mendez, Esq.; and A Collection of poems. By several hands, printed for G. Pearch, 2 volumes, 1768, 4 volumes, 1770 (new editions: 1775, 1783)". From a contemporary review: 2The volume has a short introduction; collations of the various supplements in their different editions, title-pages of each of the first editions or issues being illustrated; the contents of each volume of each supplement; poems listed by author, cross-referenced to the volumes in which they appear; an index of first lines; and, finally, half-a-dozen pages of biographical notes of those poets who are not to be found in DNB."
