Although published 90 years ago, this book has few modern rivals, and is reprinted here for the firt time within a more extensive work by Anne Buck.

Catherine Channer dedicated a lifetime to the cause of English lace. She was a talented lacemaker who, as a young woman at the end of the last centruy, lived in the Northamptonshire village of Ravensthorpe.
Anne Buck is well known for her work in the fields of English costume and lace and is the author of several standard works on these subjects.
