It draws on all the known photographic collections from the time of the first traveller photographers : Muhammad Sadiq, Miriam and Sons and Snouck Hurgronje (Abe al-Ghaffar) in the last decade if the 1800s; Ibrahim Rifaat, Clemow and Hallajian at the turn if the century; Gertrude Bell, Shakespeare, T.E Lawrence and Philby in the first quarter; and so to de Gaury, Rendelsham and Thesiger in the 1939's and 1949s, with Battigellu, Steiner's and other Aramco Photographers.
