Cloth. Etat : Fine. Copy number '173' of an edition limited to 220 copies each SIGNED by the artist, J. Martin Pitts, on the colophon. Printed on all-rag mould-made paper (made at St Cuthbert's Mill) using 16 point Blado with Poliphilus type set at the Whittington Press. Bound in illustrated cloth over boards designed by J. Martin Pitts with bottle-green lettering to the spine and bottle-green endpapers. Patterned-paper covered board slipcase. 280 x 180 mm, pp. [1-8], 9-14 [15-20] with 19 linocuts by J. Martin Pitts. The book and slipcase are both in fine condition. Absolutely wonderful linocuts throughout. Peter Grimes was originally published in 1810 in 'The Borough' collection. Written in heroic couplets, this is the most popular poem in the collection, which includes a series of twenty four poems. Being sold by a longstanding UK bookseller and not a mass lister; which infers that this book is just as described with no nasty surprises. All utterly fine. The book will be packed well.
