Illustrated Coated Cardstock. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. Putting aside the "Definitive" of the title, and the authors' somewhat alarmist predictions about the future of the grizzly, this is a detailed study of the Montana (especially Yellowstone) ecosystems which provide habitat for the bears and, of course, other less prepossessing creatures like humans. 279 mostly two-column pages with Frontispiece, prefatory matter, Table of Contents, List of [96] Tables, List of [105] Figures, illustrations (some in color), Appendix, a reprint of Montana's School of Forestry Bulletin 40 (1974), and References Cited. Covers show some discoloration back and front, two partial creases at rear, and a pinch at rear; text is strong, and mostly clean: pages 272 through rear cover carry a 5/8" x 1" smudge at lower margin.
