Features the addition of an extended Appendix section (pages 49-79) which includes "Genealogical History of the Vallet Family," "A Man: or the Shoemaker and the Viscountess" from the Emile Vallet scrapbook, along with five letters by Vallet which were printed in the Keokuk, Iowa Weekly Gate City newspaper: "A Live Communist" from the December 24, 1885 issue; "Wants to Be an Editor" from January 7, 1886; "A Millionaire in a Tight Place" from February 11, 1886; "Educational: Our Present System of Education" from February 25, 1886; and "The Emancipation of the White Man" from April 15, 1886.
