The 5 volume Learn-To-Read Series, contains 4 readers in each volume. Volume I –Bees, book 1, enables parents or educators to easily teach a child to read, even if the child has not yet learned the alphabet. Large letters and cartoon characters are used throughout the series to help the child learn the alphabet and build a reading vocabulary. Digraphs and trigraphs (two- and three-letter combinations) are also used to help the child remember new words. Most 4 and 5 year olds can read Bees within 15 minutes, leaving them with a feeling of achievement. T.P., book 2, increases the reader’s recognition of new letters and words. In Ed, book 3, the young reader learns most words begin and end with one or two consonants, with a vowel or vowels in the middle. Ed’s Red Bed, book 4, distinguishes between vowels and consonants. It is important to know which sounds are attached to vowels and which sounds are attached to consonant.
