Alvin R. Mahrer, Ph.D., is Professor of psychology at the University of Ottawa, Canada, a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, and a former president of one of its divisions. He is the author of 11 books and approximately 200 articles, chapters, and studies on psychotherapy, and recipient of the University of Ottawa Award for Excellence in Research. He is one of 12 psychotherapists included in the American Psychological Association's Psychotherapy Videotape Series. Dr. Mahrer is a world-renowned theoretician, practitioner, and teacher, and his experiential psychotherapy is taught and practiced in over 14 countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
