Synopsis
The result of months of library research, this book compiles the scientific knowledge of the gender and sex determination of humans. This includes what is known of the role of genes, hormones, and especially prescription drugs. Originally published in a very limited way in 1978 with small exposure on the internet, this 2008 edition has a few updating notes but the basic scientific knowledge has not changed -- only been confirmed. The book also describes the behavior of the psychiatric profession over the last 100 years in mishandling this subject. The curing of homosexuality -- so called -- is sharply critiqued. It is shown that the religious attitudes have equally been either ignorant or malicious with regard to homosexuality.

À propos de l'auteur
Mason Clark was and is a retired semiconductor engineer, trained in electrical engineering and physics. He was a transistor development supervisor at the Bell Telephone Laboratory in the early 1950 days of that invention. Because of the role of the transistor in computers, he was led to an interest in the brain. There appeared in the April 1966 Scientific American an article by Seymour Levine, in the midst of the storm of publicity regarding homosexuality coming “out of the closet,” notably nearby in San Francisco. This inspired months of library research and the angry writing of this book. He has neither the time, the patience, nor the ability to edit it into a literary masterpiece but here it is for the value it has as a compilation of science and the product of much reading.
