Exhibition catalog from Hogle's 1998 central California shows at the Fresno Art Museum, the Bolinas Museum, and Santa Clara University's de Saisset Musuem, featuring many of her Marin County landscapes, hills and headlands. Includes a photographic portrait of the artist, a foreword by the exhibit curator Jacquelin Pilar, Notes on Ann Hogle's Paintings by Josephine Carson, and an extensive essay by former San Jose Mercury News art critic Dorothy Burkhart, plus the artist's chronology and C.V. Ann Meilstrup Hogle (b. 1927) studied art at the University of Oregon, Marylhurst Colege and the Portland Art Museum School in the 1940s and 50s. She earned her MFA at the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1978. She painted in the Bay Area figurative style until the 1970s, when she turned to the landscape and did large 6 foot paintings. She showed for many years with the William Sawyer Gallery in San Francisco and later the SPUR Projects gallery in Portola Valley.
