In this fresh collection of his poems, Basu explores the complexities of his feelings. His poems can be melancholic, but their apparent sadness is mitigated by the sensuous images culled from the natural world, often closely observed and recorded, as well as by a sensitive understanding that becomes more transparent as we proceed from poem to poem.
