Deborah Michel - Designer (illustrateur). This is a photograph album in the form of a board book, thoughtfully and artistically designed, and manufactured to exacting specifications. Designed by Deborah Michel, the book has top-insertion slots for ten pairs of back-to-back 5" x 7" prints, or a total of twenty (20) photos. Michel cleverly includes the name of "Mrs. Biddy Floyd," printed on the front paste down. Performing a basic online search, we find that none other than Jonathan Swift had in 1707 written a poem entitled, "On Mrs. Biddy Floyd." I refer the reader to pursue the reference independently. This is a quality product of exacting design and manufacture: Each of the ten board leaves has matching die-cuts, the front and back matching in both size and shape. These can be described in order as: a) 2 rectangles with slightly arched tops; b) 2 ovals lying on their sides, positioned near the top of the leaf; c) 2 rectangles with fully rounded tops; d) 2 repeats of shape "a" as above; e) 2 circles; f) 2 wide rectangles with slightly arched tops; g) 2 ovals lying on their sides, positioned near the bottom of the leaf; h) 2 vertical ovals; i) 2 squat and wide rectangles with a slightly rounded tops; and, j) 2 ovals lying on their sides, positioned near the top of the leaf. Each of the die cuts has a pre-printed line for a title. Inside the back cover, there are 16 lines for "Notes," spaced a centimeter apart. Clean used copy. Intact blue fore edge ribbon. No markings.
