Roberto Chavez is a Los Angeles born painter whose work was recently featured in the Getty Foundation s major retrospective of Chicano art. He has works in the collections of the Smithsonian Institute, the Autry Museum, as well as other public and private collections. The book contains 68 high-quality full-color reproductions; and introductory essay by Robert Ross; writings by Chavez describing his view of art and what it means to be an artist; and a comprehensive biographical timeline. It is the most extensive offering of Mr. Chavez's work to date.
