Synopsis
Patients with epilepsy have a threefold greater risk of cognitive and other mental problems than individuals without neurologic problems, due to direct effects of seizures, the effects of associated neuropsychological deficits, and adverse medication effects. This book defines existing computerized testing methods being applied to the assessment of neuropsychologic functions in patients with epilepsy, with particular emphasis placed on the role of computerized testing in monitoring cognitive effects of antiepileptic agents in patients of varying ages.
