Despite dodgy agents, iffy theatre managers, crummy difs, idiosyncratic artists and a bemusing variety of engaging, charismatic and eccentric personalities, the couple pull the company through to pantomime production and finally a number one tour of a musical. But the attendant administrative, financieal and personal worries leave Norman reeling. His marriage to Debbie falters through his and her dalliance with cast members.
