What strikes me is not just the colorful, lively pictures, and appealing humour in the language, but the content. I just love the informativeness and underlying scientific theories of this! This especially attracts me, as I absolutely am fanatic about anything to do with psychology and neuroscience. Also, despite the large words and pictures, it's not just for children. It truly teaches even 17 year old students like me a lot of exam facts that I never knew.' Serena, 17 'This is great. Don t let the other kids see it or they ll all catch up with me.' Alex, 13

British born Verity Aylward has been a secondary (high school) teacher for over ten years and is currently Head of History at a very high-achieving international school in Hong Kong. As a global teacher, Ms Aylward is driven by a desire to promote global citizenship and critical thinking - to empower students to think 'outside the box.' Her teaching journey began in Orthodox Jewish and secular schools in England, and then took her to an Arabic-Indian school in the heart of the Arabic world. Once in Hong Kong, Ms Aylward reflected on her own journey across these civilizations and the many lessons she had learnt - the most important one being that we are one and the same: the way a student responds to their environment is crucial in determining their own life journey. In other words, the way a student thinks about themselves and the world around them plays a major part in shaping their choices. Sometimes however, students are not always aware of the opportunities and the options that they have, and this is where critical thinking becomes important. Exams are just one dimension of a young person's life experience (if they have the opportunity) and they provide the platform for real thinking and learning. Therefore, with proper exam preparation, students have the skills to succeed not only in exams but also as thoughtful beings - in a world that needs a generation of more informed and critical thinkers.
