Beatriz E. Candil García Born in Madrid, Spain, in 1976, member of the Spanish Association for Falconry and Conservation of Birds of Prey (AECCA) and various professional translation associations, Beatriz has studied political science, law and translation. The author has lived and travelled extensively all over the world and currently resides in London. Beatriz is trilingual in English, Spanish and Italian, and possesses an excellent understanding of French in addition to basic German and Dutch. Her interest for all animals was apparent at a very early age and during her first years at university, she volunteered in a shark research organization (PADI qualified diver) where she was later appointed as member of the board. Beatriz was involved professionally in falconry while living in Spain in 2001, working as a falconer in bird control, training and successfully breeding birds of prey while also teaching falconry. Ars Accipitraria is a follow-up to her first award-winning publication, El Gran Desconocido: The Redtailed Hawk published in Spanish language in 2004 and winner of the UK´s British Print Design and Production Award for best digital book. Due to popular demand, this title will soon be available in English. Beatriz has co-founded Yarakweb.com and Yarak Publishing with her partner and co-author of Ars Accipitraria, Arjen Hartman; together they aim to unite falconry and falconers worldwide through future publications and projects. Arjen E. Hartman An experienced multilingual Internet entrepreneur and first-time author from The Netherlands. Born in Groningen, The Netherlands in 1971, Arjen has resided in London for several years, after having spent parts of his life living in South Africa and the USA. Arjen has a solid working experience in journalism, Internet, film & TV and marketing. Furthermore, the author is trilingual in English, Dutch and German, with basic French and currently taking on Spanish. In addition, Arjen has a black-belt in Internet due to his years of experience working for several big dot-com companies (e.g. Yahoo!) and holds an MSc e-Business degree from Westminster University, London and a BA in Consumer Economics from IJselland University in Holland. A very keen sportsman himself with a deep interest in environmental wellbeing, Arjen has been introduced to falconry by his partner and award-winning falconry author, Beatriz Candil García. Together they try to promote and uphold a positive public image of falconry and support the conservation of wildlife in general.
