Synopsis

It is often said that 'every picture tells a story' and the reader will find that saying is true when looking at this collection of images which I have called a Photo Album. The album attempts to tell the story of people and events that have featured in the life to Great Yarmouth and Gorleston from the late 19th century through to the end of the 20th century in six sections, People, Events and Entertainment, Buildings, Transport, The River and From the Air. The images on each two-page spread have a common thread, sometimes a rather tenuous one, linking them together. Although every picture in the album has a story to tell in many cases the captions have been expanded to make that story more detailed. The Album is illustrated with over 225 images, many previously unpublished.
