Yvonne Wood qualified as a complementary therapist 18 years ago and has continued to train in all aspects of complementary therapy. She has taught for 15 years in both private and local authority education, establishing a wide range of complementary courses as curriculum manager. Being passionate about the quality of teaching in colleges, she also established a successful mentoring scheme for new tutors, with many qualifying to teach diploma courses. Yvonne has also been involved in fund raising for special schools and other good causes, been guest speaker for various establishments including the Ladies Rotary Lunch and is founding member and chairperson of the Hillingdon Therapists Club. She is currently joint director of Heatherwood Academy. After many years working in Histopathology for the NHS Erika embarked on a career change into complementary therapy. For the last ten years she has trained and practised in many aspects of complementary therapy which ultimately led into teaching. Erika is particularly inspired by appropriate aftercare for sports activity and has worked with local sporting clubs and youth sports teams. She has taught in both private and local authority establishments, with a guiding ethos of passion, knowledge and nurture. She is currently joint director of Heatherwood Academy. Heatherwood Academy is a private training provider for complementary and beauty courses. It is ITEC registered and has accreditation with CThA, APNT, and BABTAC.
