I found reading 24 Secrets to Great Parenting really useful - it both affirmed what I was already doing as a mum and gave me achievable tips to make things better. I loved the 'easy to read' style and anecdotes that made me feel like I was chatting with friends rather than being told off! The questions at the end of each chapter made a great starting point for discussing that topic with my husband. I particularly like the chapter that encourages you to have 'date nights' with your spouse - my husband & I are off for a meal together tonight! --Kerry Cullis - Birmingham

24 Secrets to Great Parenting is an outstanding contribution to the world of parenting. It's deceptively packed with thought provoking exercises and creative ideas, and it gives readers plenty of space to think for themselves and consider how they can mould Jim and Bonnie s expertise to their own unique circumstances. It's well laid out in style, is straightforward to read and easy to apply. I definitely recommend it to all parents, new and old! --Andrew Pain - Divorced father of two daughters aged 6 and 9 - UK

The parenting book has been a great help for us. It has brought us closer in the task of educating our son and daughter. This book is full of day by day examples, is very practical and easy to read. It also shows that we are not alone and that as parents we experience the same thoughts, feelings and struggles. We've discovered that our kids are more similar to us than we thought and we've learned to define goals and steps for them. We really enjoyed reading this book. --Débora & Ruben (parents of 2 teenage kids) Luxembourg

Biographie de l'auteur

Jim and Bonnie Inkster moved to the United Kingdom from the West Coast of Canada in the autumn of 1999. Why? Not to escape the snow but to follow their career paths! Both of them are trained educators having taught for a number of years in Canada. Bonnie also qualified as Montessori kindergarten. Jim was a deputy head as well as the head teacher of a school in Canada. Upon coming to the UK they founded a leadership college in Chelmsford. They spent 6 years teaching and administrating the college before they moved into London. They have spoken at conferences and seminars in many countries of the world - France, Australia, Uganda, India, the Philippines, and Mexico, to name a few. Jim and Bonnie have also conducted parenting and marriage seminars in North America, Europe and Africa. Jim is a qualified life coach. Jim and Bonnie Inkster have been married for 39 wonderful years - mostly. (On one occasion Bonnie was asked to introduce them before she spoke. She told everyone that they had been happily married for 32 years, although it really was 35. There probably are 3 years one would like to forget or can t remember). They have 4 children who they really love, like and enjoy. Joel and Becky, the first born, are twins. Yes, they are identical. (No, just kidding!) They were considered the beginning and the end for quite awhile but time dulls one's memory. 5 years behind the twins was Jared and 2 years later Jessica. All of the children are now married. We now have 8 fantastic grandchildren, 7 girls and 1 boy. Being grandparents is so much fun, no responsibility and no late nights!
