Poetry in Motion is a poetry book that embraces a dialogue of rhyming verse that touches on humour, romance and many current issues of the day. The 168 poems are scripted to randomly present the material in a way that draws the reader into a compelling plain English read about every day experiences they can relate to. The poetry book has been specifically designed to grab the reader's attention from the moment the book is opened. This enjoyable and fun loving read is perfect for every type of occasion. It can be dwelled upon, or randomly dipped into without any loss of momentum. Some of the poems include an introductory paragraph which explains how they came about. This enables the reader to grasp the mechanics of the poem and the ideology behind it. The book has been well received since its introduction to the Merseyside area in December 2009 and has been described as refreshingly funny, to the point, and infectious. The book cover is brightly coloured and eye catching. A hackney carriage 'black cab' appears on the front cover because the author is a self employed taxi driver in the Merseyside area and many of the poems; although not related to this trade; were scripted whilst he was out on the road. On the rear cover there is a picture of the taxi driving away from the reader, headed by the poem 'The Poet'
My wife and I have been thoroughly enjoying the book. Philosophy, pathos and fun, it's all there. This is the sort of book one can dip into at any time and enjoy. John Lee, Essex It took me about an hour and a half to read through the book, which was infectious. I was able to quickly move on through the poems that didn't interest me, to the ones that did. The material is very thought provoking and funny. I have recommended it to my friends. Mike Kennedy, St. Helens, Merseyside --Book purchasers
