Biographie de l'auteur

Background to the authors Alan and Graham are at the leading edge of positive psychology. They have developed a new model and approach based on focused natural learning™, which provides people with those insights and practical tools to develop their own personal power. Bringing this unique approach to the world of work in a very practical and business focused way, achieves a much higher return-on-investment for clients as it focuses on attitude and behavioural change, and tangible results. Dr Alan Beggs: Alan read psychology at Queens University, Belfast, and then had a long and distinguished research career at the University of Nottingham. He is now a Chartered Psychologist, and Member of the Division of Occupational Psychology of the British Psychological Society. He became one of the very first sport psychologists in the country, and has worked with many international and Olympic competitors in a very wide range of sports. He is a prolific author, and his book on sailing is now the standard text used by Britain's Olympic medal-winning dinghy sailors, with whom he worked for fifteen years. After the Sydney Olympics in 2000, he passed the baton on to a younger generation of sport psychologists and has turned his attention exclusively to the world of business. Alan was closely involved with the introduction of coaching into the workplace. Graham Williams: During his career in the Police Service, Graham was among the first to embrace a coaching style of leadership and empowerment. As a former senior officer in Liverpool he demonstrated the benefits of an engaging leadership style and developing dynamic teams to perform at both operational and strategic levels. Graham has handled major projects including two which had a national impact and he successfully delayered an organisation from three to two tier involving five thousand people. He has in-depth experience of training, coaching and developing leaders and high performing teams in both work and physical environments. His sporting achievements encompass alpine mountaineering, and, for five years, leading a skydiving team, performing displays at major events throughout the UK.
