Biographie de l'auteur

In 1973 Larry Garner left London for Australia as a 'Ten Pound Pom' - eager to ply his trade as a fitter and turner and seek his fortune. He never dreamed of slaving in an iron ore plant in 47 heat . . . buying a camel a beer in the outback . . . partying in trendy Melbourne . . . and getting lost in the jungle in Papua New Guinea. Larry worked hard and played hard. His hilarious, often hair-raising exploits are full of affection for the characters he met on his journeys and for the father who inspired him to make the most of himself. To Oz and Back will appeal to armchair globe trotters and to all who appreciate the good things of life - like a long cold beer on a tropical beach.

Présentation de l'éditeur

Sitting with the lads in the pub, scanning the football results, gossip and half-truths in the Sunday paper, I spotted an advert headed "Australia, Land of Opportunity"
