Brought together by the old Writer's Center in Glen Echo, and collaborated to form Wineberry Press. A moving work as memory and time fail is E. Castendyk Brief's poem titled 'Alzheimer's at Bill & Sally's' (pg 11). It reads: "Who was the nice young lady in my bed?"/Bill whispers to me at the breakfast table/ "Probably Sal," I breathe back, "your wife."/Relieved, Bill laughs --- his old good laugh, "That's rich!"/ . Bill jerks away from his breakfast nap /Checks his tie, gets up, and with a cheerful /"Good Night!" heads for his room. Always courtly /at the stairs he turns, almost bows to Sally /"Miss, will I see you yesterday?" /Sally waves, tired. Bill stands waiting /Of course you will, dear William /who loved her twice as much tomorrow. Author Signed. N° de réf. du vendeur 000769
