Jacob Bean, a connoisseur of Italian and French drawings, was the curator of drawings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for 31 years. This publication celebrated his 70th birthday and coincided with an exhibition on 16th century Italian drawings in New York collections at the Met. Contributors include Christopher White, J. A.
