Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. 2nd Edition, Limited Edition. Might In Flight Daily Dairy of the Eighth Air Force's Hell's Angels Harry D. Gobrecht 1997 ? Second & Limited Edition of 500 Very good condition. Spine is square with only minimal softening at the bottom endcap. Covers are clean and brightly printed. A previous owner affixed a clear protective cover using small pieces of Scotch tape; the tape contacts the book in only a tiny area and appears non?marring if removed. Because it is neatly applied, it has been left in place. The front inside flap of the clear cover shows transfer printing from the included ephemera, but there is no transfer printing on the book itself. Front pastedown has a crease running the length of the spine. See photos. Binding is strong and in well?kept condition. Contents are clean and unmarked throughout. The frontispiece shows light, minimal blemishing. The first fifty pages exhibit localized edge wear. Please review photos for these points. This copy is the highly scarce 2nd Revised Edition, strictly limited to a print run of only 500 copies?far rarer than the initial printing. It is double?signed by the author, Lt. Col. Harry D. Gobrecht (USAF Ret.), with both a formal signature on the title page and a personalized presentation inscription to fellow Air Force veteran Grady Puryear (AF 18398841). Included is an exceptional multi?page set of historical ephemera containing facsimile WWII combat briefing records and after?action summaries for Mission No. 341 to Hamburg on March 20, 1945. Materials feature a full tactical formation tree diagram for the 360th Bomb Squadron listing individual B?17 tail codes and pilot surnames, detailed target intelligence sheets for the Ölwerke Julius Schindler oil refineries, and a vivid first?person mission narrative describing heavy flak over Helgoland Island and encounters with Me?262 jets and Me?163 rocket fighters. The "MISSION" front sheet shows transfer printing from being pressed into the book but remains fully legible. See photos. Signed by Author(s). N° de réf. du vendeur 09192026eb1
