The author, who teaches legal writing seminars, recognizes that most writing problems faced by attorneys, judges, and law students stem from a tendency to explain complex ideas in an equally complex way; he shows how proper grammar can make the writing much simpler and the legal ideas much clearer. Throughout, he offers entertaining examples of bad writing and remedies for common legal writing problems, such as how to make one's writing gender-neutral. The last part of the book contains a detailed explanation, with sample, of legal memo writing. Recommended for all legal and writing collections.
