Lan Sluder has been banging around Belize for 25 years. He is the founder and editor of Belize First Magazine, now an online magazine, www.BelizeFirst.com, and is the author of several books on Belize, including Lan Sluder's Guide to Belize 2016, Fodor's Belize 2014-15, Lan Sluder's Guide to the Cayes, Coast and Beaches of Belize, Easy Belize (2nd. ed. 2016), Living Abroad in Belize, Belize First Guide to Mainland Belize, Adapter Kit: Belize, San Pedro Cool and Belize Islands Guide. A former newspaper editor in New Orleans, Sluder also has done a Frommer's guidebook to the Carolinas and Georgia, a Fodor's guide to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, co-authored several other books and has contributed articles to many magazines and newspapers including Caribbean Travel and Life, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, Bangkok Post, Tico Times, Canada's Globe and Mail and Where to Retire.
